OCTOBER
The latest edition of ISO 9001 was published. Thus it was completed a job of three years of review by experts from 95 countries to bring the updated standards of the rule to today's needs. With more than 1.1 million certificates issued worldwide, ISO 9001 helps demonstrate to organizations that we can offer customers products and services consistently and with good quality. The ISO acts as a key tool to streamline processes and its composition of a more efficient way. According to the General Secretary of ISO, Kevin McKinley: "ISO 9001 enables organizations to adapt to a changing world. It increases the ability of an organization to satisfy its customers and provides a consistent base for growth and sustained success. "
The 2015 edition presents changes that Nigel Croft, president of the ISO subcommittee, developed and was part of the revision of the standard, referring to it as a process "evolutionary rather than revolutionary". "We're just bringing the ISO 9001 for the twenty-first century. Earlier versions of ISO 9001 it was quite prescriptive, with many requirements for procedures at the level of documentation and records."
"Currently, we intend to be one step ahead and ISO 9001:2015 is less prescriptive than the predecessor, focusing on performance. We have achieved this by combining the approach of the processes with the thought of risk-based and employing the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle at all levels of the organization. "
The ISO 9001: 2015 replaces all previous editions and the certification bodies will have three years to migrate their scripts to this new version.
The ISO 9000, establishing the concepts and language used throughout all family of ISO 9000 standards, was also revised and a new edition is now available.
